About Dog Butler

Dog Butler was born out of a passion for both entrepreneurship and dogs. Our founder, Bob Baber, always dreamed of running his own company, setting his own schedule, and achieving personal goals on his own terms. Inspired by a 2002 USA Today article about a successful pooper scooper business in the Washington, D.C. area, Bob saw an opportunity to solve a common problem for dog owners—taking the hassle out of daily doggy clean-up duties.

As a lifelong dog lover, Bob’s experiences with his own German Shepherd, Black Lab, and Pointer mix not only deepened his affection for our four-legged friends but also made him intimately familiar with the challenges of keeping up with dog poop. In 2009, after being downsized from his previous job, Bob and his fiancé, Ginny took a leap of faith and launched Dog Butler, determined to create a service that combined efficiency with genuine care.

Over the years, Dog Butler has built a reputation for excellence. Sadly in June 2023, we experienced the heartbreaking loss of Bob, who passed away suddenly. While we miss him dearly, his spirit lives on in every service we provide. We continue to honor his legacy by upholding the high standards he set for Dog Butler, ensuring that every customer receives the quality service Bob envisioned.
